Quarantine success!!! :-)
Dragged back into the viral morass by forces beyond our control :-( ... at least Denise and Lizann are comfortably over the border ;-) |
Halfway thorugh quarantine on Vancouver Island! We are protected from the worst of the coast weather. We have useable enough internet connection for working, but we still complain when youtube time comes around. The marina folks have been delightful, no matter how many times watchful locals call the RCMP about our Oregon hailing port. |
Kiki comes to rest for quarantine. We are all smiles behind our PPE. |
In the time of Corona, the First Nations at La Push and Neah Bay have decided that avoiding disease-bearing colonists is STILL a good plan. Luckily for us, the always prepared USCG negotiated a PPE-full gas stop for us, and we were able to travel the excessively long distance up to lovely Victoria harbour. |
Phill made a last minute cannonball run to get us safety harnesses before the tide turned, and we made it over the Columbia Bar without incident (aside from Silver Speed trying to run us down and failing). Here's our first sunset at sea. (laundry at sea discreetly cropped) |
Another day, a little rain, a few more miles down the river, and we are feeling MUCH better. |
The smoke is noticeably less, but still painful. We are leaving Heuristicat behind and jumping out of the frying pan. Kiki still awaits federal approvals for her new name. |
Oregon is on fire. We are consolidating onto Kiki to escape the astonishingly unhealthful air. Even a couple dozen miles down the river, the smoke is noticeably less. |
