Almost 5 KiloWatt-hours of energy per charge for almost 4 kilo-USD ;-)
Kiki's ~100 kilogram deep cycle AGM is pining for the fjords, and Heuristicat looks like not needing this kind of juice for a while. These weigh ~14 kilos each, and together have more capacity.

Here's an overview of the scope of damage, now that the snow has melted. No word yet on how much this will cost. Our neighbor to the North suffered similar damage, on a smaller scale (visible at far right)

My marina had not seen much snow stick, for a dozen years. Despite recent reinforcements, the canopies could not handle the accumulation of snow and ice over the course of almost a week. Heuristicat was lucky to be too tall for a weather protection roof, and so far remains unscathed by this disaster.

Some real winter has come down to river level. It seemed harmless the first couple days.

Gave my Starlink antenna a little boost. Evidence hints that the post helped the connexion reliability.

We have the usual winter rains, plus the "pineapple express" firehose of warmer rain that happens every three or four years to these parts. I'm fond of the way the bridge lights connect with their reflections when the river is high (despite a half-decade of calc and harmonic analysis classes) continuous in fact as well as in first and second derivatives. Will The Donald's needless covid death toll reach 7% of The Holocaust by Wednesday at noon? (Missed it by 0.1%, according to Johns Hopkins) Will a sticky backstay keep the America's Cup out of the hands of the Americans? Sadly So!

A little refuge of calm and peace while desperate fascists assault the foundations of democracy. New camera; slightly better at catching celestial phenomena. If you look closely you can see the elliptical outline of the phased array internet antenna strapped on the dinghy ;-) It's quite good at catching LEO bits. Our prototypes are making progress.

Currently, these za-sized things only work in one place each. That rusty post is enough to interrupt the data flow from the current set of satellites. Who knows how long until it will work at sea? I never did catch the Xmas ships parading by this year. That's one Portland tradition that has built in distancing (as long as you only have your bubble-mates on your boat)

US Thanksgiving came and went in isolation, but now the xmas trees are blossoming. Thankful for family, friends, and the chance to help people in need. The debug work goes on at the Lab.

Still battling bugs in the miasma of COVID-land. "The Beat Goes On" is a 501(c)3 "adult" marching band. We have been unable to perform en masse since Mardi Gras :-(

It feels like a new dawn, like the world has been flipped right-side-up after four years. Winter has arrived on the river. Frost sparkles under twinkling stars.

Back in the US, back in the US, back in the US.... Time flies when your federal government is openly trying to kill you. They have taken a break from armed assault on Portland specifically, but "herd mentality" is guaranteed to kill millions. I'm not saying we wouldn't get our hair mussed, but masks save lives. Once my HW/SW protocols are in order, self-deportation is back on the table.

The Donald accomplished only 6.9% of a Holocaust before being dragged - kicking and screaming - from power. Blaming the regional governors did not work so well at the Nuremburg Trials.
